Bonnets
hello friends,
I learned a new thing. Well, let me start from the beginning I am working on a scarf, and, surprise, it takes more yarn than I originally thought. Three stores later I find the right white colour and the right weight. Sounds like a win, right? Wrong. A rookie move was made, and I forgot to make sure the yarn was acrylic - acrylic like the yarn I’m using for the white in the scarf.
So, a small pivot. I kept seeing hats and bonnets for kids on my Instagram, so I thought I would see if I could figure out how to make one. After all, they are super cute. After (slightly ashamed of how long this took) 3 hours of looking for a pattern, I finally settled on one. The cherry on top, the wrong yarn I got for my scarf project, had just enough yards for the pattern. Amazing! 4 hours later, I had my first bonnet. Yes, I know that it shouldn’t take me that long, but I am using the excuse that I was learning a new pattern and a new skill of making a bonnet. I have since learned that making these bonnets is super FUN! So, hopefully, I can find my crowd so I can make so many more.
with lots of love
ps. yes I know this is off-topic from book learning how to write, but I was so excited I had to interrupt.
