splash of colour
hello friends!
I previously mentioned during my crazy Christmas rush that I was working on a blanket for a very special little boy. So I thought I would finally share it with you guys here.
I have been recently really into trying new things mainly because I was called basic for only knitting squares and boring knit squares at that. So, being maybe a touch petty, I decided to prove them wrong. The first step was to learn a whole bunch of different stitches, and man, that took me a minute to wrap my brain around. Hence, the new blanket. So the stitch I used is called the Pique Ribbing stitch. This was a lot of fun and also the first time I have ever had to count my rows.
Before this stitch, I had only done the Seed stitch. For that stitch, you do not have to count your rows; you just have to know what your previous stitch was.
That being said, this project was so much FUN. I tried to be a little extra by creating a knitted border around the pique ribbing in hopes that it would make it lay a little nicer. I read a lot of reviews that people had a lot of problems when trying new patterns that they would roll up or have almost a zig-zag edge because the rows didn’t all end in the same knit stitch, and I was hoping to avoid that right off the bat. I’m super glad I did. I think the little border adds to the special pattern.
p.s. happy valentine’s day<3
With lots of love
